Mr. Taulbee has over 25 years of experience in the shopping center industry. He has had proven success in all aspects of management, development, and leasing for commercial and retail assets. This includes hundreds of shopping centers throughout the United States and several abroad including regional, life style, outlets, mixed use, and community malls.
Throughout his career, Mr. Taulbee has chaired many executive boards, chambers and committees in multiple communities throughout the United States, Asia, and UK. He maintains a Real Estate License and is a standing member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Building Owners and Management Associations (BOMA).
His experience includes Starwood Capital in which he oversaw management for the firm’s retail portfolio. His responsibilities included ensuring the Centers were maintained, leased and marketed at the highest standards possible with a high-level focus to maximize the assets profitability. This included creating and implementing strategies to achieve company and property specific agendas.
Prior to joining Starwood Retail Partners, Mr. Taulbee was President of CompassRock Real Estate. CompassRock specializes real estate and turn-around situations, working with lenders, special services and other real estate owners. CompassRock covers major markets nationally and specializes in secondary and tertiary markets where assignments from CMBS special services often occur.
Prior to joining CompassRock, Mr. Taulbee was Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Corporex, a privately held investment company with broad holdings throughout the United States. Corporex has developed and managed retail, office, industrial, residential and hotel assets and currently controls more than $1 billion in real estate investments in 30 major markets across the United States.
Mr. Taulbee was previously the Vice President of Management for Simon Property Group, a global leader in retail real estate ownership, management, and development. Mr. Taulbee was responsible for the overall management of shopping malls throughout the United States. This included marketing, leasing, and operations that generated billions in annual retail sales and provided a first-class shopping experience for millions of consumers each day. In addition to the management responsibilities, Mr. Taulbee oversaw the management for all new mall openings and acquisitions.
